Porsche 911.

We do not have the Porsche 911! Presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1963, it was produced in series until a year later. Forty-three years after its launch, its unmistakable silhouette and the sounds of his six-cylinder flat are still turn heads. Equally at ease in city traffic on track, the 911 has continued over the years to save up to date without losing the aura of authenticity that is its charm. A feat that few automakers have managed to accomplish. But the 911 is it not more a myth than a car? It was at one of our major manufacturers that the 911 is named, or rather his figure. At Porsche, this car was developed under the code 901. But Peugeot has introduced the three-digit numbering with a zero in the middle - the source for the crank - Porsche was forced to give another number to the prototype No. 5 that appeared in the Fall 1963 Exhibition Frankfurt.
The latter, now called 911, was powered by a six cylinder block to dish - the famous flat-six - 2.0 130 hp air-cooled and placed in door-to-rear overhang, when the 356 had only a four rolls flat. In 1965, Porsche has a Targa version of this 911 which is a convertible with a high degree of security through a strong roll bar and enter into production in 1966. A year later, the range is diversified with the 2.0 S 160 bhp, the 2.0 L 130 hp and the 2.0 T 110 bhp, and the wheelbase has increased by almost six inches to improve the handling of this car naturally oversteer.
